American Counseling Association (ACA), Membership type – Professional
The ACA is a not-for-profit, professional and educational organization that is dedicated to the growth and enhancement of the counseling profession. Founded in 1952, ACA is the world's largest association exclusively representing professional counselors in various practice settings.
Nationally Board Certified Counselor (NBCC)
The National Board for Certified Counselors is an independent, non-profit, voluntary, non-governmental corporation established to advance the credentialing of professional counselors. The organization monitors a national certification process; identifies counselors who have voluntarily obtained national certification; and administers a certification examination and specialty certifications for school, clinical mental health and addictions counselors.
International Association for Correctional and Forensic Psychology (IACFP)
The IACFP is an organization of behavioral scientists and practitioners who are concerned with the delivery of high-quality mental health services to criminal offenders, and with promoting and disseminating research on the etiology, assessment and treatment of criminal behavior.
National Employment Counseling Association (NECA)

Association for Spiritual, Ethical, and Religious Values in Counseling (ASERVIC):
Originally the National Catholic Guidance Conference, ASERVIC was chartered in 1974. ASERVIC is devoted to professionals who believe that spiritual, ethical, religious, and other human values are essential to the full development of the person and to the discipline of counseling.
Counseling Association for Humanistic Education and Development (C-AHEAD):
C-AHEAD, a founding association of ACA in 1952, provides a forum for the exchange of information about humanistically-oriented counseling practices and promotes changes that reflect the growing body of knowledge about humanistic principles applied to human development and potential.
Counselors for Social Justice (CSJ):
